hi everyone, daughter bought used imac , has admin account setup on it. has been using year or so. purchased , upgraded lion, noticed whenever changes on computer pops admin name , request password original owner's name, asked why not delete account , explained has been using account stuff , not wish loose (pictures, music etc..).
can create new account give admin priveliges copy new account , delete old admin account?
or have better idea?

old school, if me ...
1) log on computer has.
2) copy data off computer onto external hdd
3) create new admin account
4) delete old admin account
5) log in new admin account
6) begin process of moving data back.
..........
whenever sell 1 of mac's wipe hdd totally clean.
clean install admin account named new owner.
when passing on next owner, go through process them of creating new account named want it, own password.
show them how set account administrator.
have them log in own account , delete new owner account.
