ALAC vs AAC - file size compariosn and use with iPhone

hi all,

current set-up of converting cds dbpa -> aiff/alac xld true vbr aac highest quality.

however, see alac file seizes not different these xld-produced files considering dumping aac togetehr (apart ituens purchases of course) , use alac files.

question - how of additional battery drain alac files cause?

have experience this?

if primary concern battery life shouldn't using either format. won't make noticeable difference.
