reported since sunday, has run slowly, particularly while running safari. isn't connection, since windows pc still runs fine. have suggested resetting pram , smc, , running disk utility repair disk permissions, no avail.
issue started under 10.7.2 still there under 10.7.3.
next step can think of run apple hardware tests using internet recovery.
has experienced this? there known malware might cause this? mackeeper comes mind. there else?
has small children @ home, taking mac genius bar isn't particularly convenient, may next step. there decent free diagnostics (besides aht) may of in isolating issue?
uninstall mackeeper. don't need it. remove mackeeper, follow instructions in following link, using "mackeeper", "zeobit" , "antivirus" search terms.
after you've removed mackeeper , restarted computer, if still have performance issues, launch activity monitor , change "my processes" @ top "all processes", click on cpu column heading once or twice, arrow points downward (highest values on top). see may consuming system resources.
