Microsoft Exchange Help Needed

i work law enforcement agency , has been pretty strict on getting our work emails on our phones. when iphone came out pretty easy set on iphone entering needed information user name , password , server address.

iphone , ipad no problem getting work email when try same our macomb air or imac both using lion wont work. im not quite sure why work on iphone or ipad not on macbook or imac.

logical answer may “just ask department.” great if them wouldn't have wanted work on iphone or ipad either not there. trying route on own. not sure if possible logical side of me says if can work on 2 mac products surely can work on macbook or imac.

or information appreciated.

 

what version of exchange server using. company uses old version (2003), works on ios, there no support on mac.
