Can't log into account.

i've upgraded mbp lion , used migration assistant transfer account our imac.

can't log transferred account now. log in screen, select transferred account, enter password , rainbow beach ball appear , nothing happens. way free hold down power button , restart computer. existing account works , logs in fine.
