Apple Working to Lease 700,000-800,000 Square Feet of New Office Space in Sunnyvale

while apple moves forward on plans new 2.8 million square foot corporate campus in cupertino, company continues grow success of products. apple's interim space needs led company lease 373,000 square feet in cupertino 6 months ago, , after expand new york city presence on 50,000 square feet.

the san jose mercury news reports apple working on deals lease between 700,000 , 800,000 square feet of additional space in sunnyvale, california, adjacent company's hometown of cupertino.

according report, apple has signed lease four-building complex in sunnyvale totaling 215,000 square feet. company said preparing move new facility, approximately 7 miles apple's main corporate campus, end of quarter.

company has signed lease on 100,000 square feet in two-building complex. estimates suggest apple house 1,300 employees on 2 sites, push sunnyvale population on 3,000 if can track down additional space looking for.
apple has long been overflowing main cupertino campus, purchasing , leasing additional space surrounding campus , elsewhere. company's plans new major campus intended allow consolidate many of space needs served leased space single company-owned location. construction on new campus yet underway, apple need continue leasing new space on next several years in order handle rapidly expanding workforce.
