with windows did annually system became slow , painful. lately have noticed jan 2010 imac lion has been freezing more often. put sleep , lately gets slow , need reboot it, fixes everything. thinking of wiping , reinstalling os factory disks.

i never have. i've done verify , repair permissions before , i've used onyx cleaning seems better job sans software. however, 1 thing left behind windows , never thought again annual format , re-install of os.
others may different, mine own experience , preference.
