How can I find the application that created a preference file: User/Library/Preferenc

drive genius alerted me, through it's event viewer, there 2 corrupt preferences should trash.

did not recognize name of preference files, , googling preferences names, (even individual parts of name, between periods), yielded no results.

trashed 2 preferences, , few days later there again. tried reopening apps had used see if crreate these preferences, no luck.

can tell me how trace preference parent/creator?

macbook pro, mac os x (10.7.3), 2011 17" 240gb ssd (750gb drive in optibay)

 

what names of preferences files? , sure corrupted? or not in format drive genius recognizes valid?
