all need contacts.
after rough night out.. itunes saying iphone 3gs in recovery mode. don't have backup on itunes lose contacts, need. have tried pull out of recovery mode. when this, reboot says same thing , itunes continues ask restore factory default. thought had backed data while (but not sure exactly), have majority of contacts on it, itunes not picking backup files. updated itunes if helpful @ all. i've tried ifunbox , pick iphone.
before going sleep noticed iphone acting up, , plugged in , windows asked me it, , opened photo folder , managed grab photos off of it. in morning asking restore iphone.
ultimate goal here contacts. have bought iphone 4s of course don't have on yet.

first thing try unplug phone pc if it's plugged in. hold both power , home buttons down @ same time until apple logo appears , @ point, let go of power button (some keep home button pushed down). keep home button pushed down 5-10 seconds , let go of , see if phone boots normally.
if doesn't work i've heard tiny umbrella can used iphones out of recovery mode, i've not looked myself.
if still doesn't work, try looking see if have in fact backed phone before. find (potential) iphone backups:
on mac:
/library/application support/mobilesync/backup
on windows:
c:\documents , settings\your_user_name\application data\apple computer\syncservices\local
use this try , extract contacts.
