just got new mac mini , migrated files old computer without problems except cannot sync 1st generation apple tv it. worked ok on old computer. did book said codes, etc., when clicked on "apple tv" under "devices" in itunes, partial screen. on "settings" page top half of page shows (name, capacity, software version , serial number of device). there nothing in middle of page there on old mac (place select automatic or manual syncing) , down in lower right corner, have "revert" , "apply" no "sync". also, bar @ bottom of page giving breakdown of hd storage usage missing. without these selection choices, no action takes place - dead screen. appears atv has been turned solely "streamer" (like atv2) instead of storage device previously. not intention. roku streaming , want atv1 backup device player.
choosing "photos" page top (next "settings"), page allows me choose "iphoto" , "all photos" or "selected albums", down @ lower right again there's "revert" , "apply", no "sync". therefore there's no way start action , page remains dead. result atv1 empty though have few thousand songs, photos , movies in computer library need sync , store on atv1 hard drive. have os 10.7.2 on new mid 2011 mac mini, itunes 10.5.2, iphoto 9.2.1, , apple tv v. 3.0.2. incidentally, none of these have been changed since problem occurred, migration new mac mini old computer (also running os 10.7.2).

solved problem. delete old computer's library
atv1 (settings/computer), recode new computer , go.
appears atv stream more 1 library, sync one.
