MAC blocking certain IP addresses - Scan tool?

hi all,

1st let me apologise if have posted in wrong place.

have lost connectivity mfd printer canon , cant seem printer ip address mac webpages fine email send/recieve etc

can tell me if there software/scan tool can/will scan mac issues preventing connecting?

this may not problem, running kind of vpn software? installed vpn client work , having same issue seeing printer. when disconnect, printer reappears.
