Velcro Apple TV to Wall

i once had apple tv2 hanging tv 8cm wall. controller worked badly.

read on forum velcro apple tv2 wall behind tv.

ir receiver in middle on front of apple tv. if turn apple tv vertical ir receiver have difficulty receiving controller signal. however, if put apple tv right against wall signal bounces off wall , ir receiver picks perfectly. if pull 5-10cm away wall keep vertical ir receiver again struggles perfect signal.

got new apple tv3 kitchen. had reinstall, took few pictures show how easy do. makes neat installation.


stuck 3m dual lock heavy duty velcro sticky pads wall. chose spot @ bottom of tv location tv has hollow cut out fit stand.


took note of how far below bracket bottom of tv be. placed spirit level 20mm above this, got level, set apple tv3 on level , pressed against sticky pads.






left 2 feet of masking tape hanging off apple tv3 , 2 feet of masking tape hanging hollow @ of tv, , lined tape , set tv on bracket. tv heavy , big , easier down front @ 2 strips of tape on back.



after using velcro attach directly wall find controller works if apple tv horizontal.

2 reasons stick wall , not of tv :
tv's, plasmas warm.
ir receiver receives better signal when apple tv right against wall.

 

i've done too, cheap & works great. have mine velcro'd side of entertainment cabinet.
