i have completed upgrading 2010 imac, 2011 mac mini , 2011 macbook air lion, air has ssd performing beautifully while imac , mini both slow , horrible use lion.
has had success using external ssd startup disk via fw800 or usb2 speed performance?

that configuration not going you... fw800/usb huge bottleneck.
have absolutely no issues on 4 of our imacs running lion.
