Ubuntu on G5?

so putting g5 work today, need lastest java, seems 10.5 stopped @ 1.5.0 java unless have 64 bit intel, want install ubuntu on it, burned ubuntu 10.04 powerpc alternate iso , osx sees fine, when restart powermac ejects disk, , when hold alt , go in there ejects disk, , when put in when on menu ejects again. there way around this? not bad burn boots fine on g3 imac, not powermac?

 

are using 64 bit powerpc disc?
