ML App Store reads from serial number

i noticed the mountain lion app store seems read computers serial number, installed ml on external hd never logged in yet still pops updates apps have on internal hd

the app store picks on software you're qualified use using computer's udid - or really, lion, , ilife suite.

in case that's not what's happening. app store picking presence of apps happen in applications folder of internal drive, because app store searches /applications in connected drives determine whether app installed or not.
