How to check performance of HDD

i imac 27" medio 2011, 1 of thinks regret, did not order ssd drive. bought 1tb sata disk.

first day, noticed hdd had must more audible noise compared macbook pro. i've never hear hdd in mbp, hdd in imac audible when i'm e.g. opening apps, startup etc. i've learned ignore noise, still think, mac can take long time open apps, startup etc.

there method check hdd in mac? check if performing well. i've peraired disk permissins etc. in disk utility.

• blackmagic disk speed test
• xbench

, since hdd inside imac 3.5" hdd compared 2.5" hdd in mbp, bigger , louder.
