Looking for MacBook buying advice

hello everyone, i'd macbook 15" , use little deciding 1 best use/budget.

dont have lot of cash spend new machine not option, older machines (2006-2008) find when searching normal channels (ebay/gumtree/craigslist/etc) priced not far have spend.

in terms of useage, have light domestic requirements - surfing/webmail/itunes/basic photo editing/excel/word try hand @ little light video work (getting couple of small hd video camera's) it'll need basic video editing more normal use. it's not professional av editing, personal use.

appreciate should looking @ processor , memory values can afford guess main questions are:
older secondhand machines idea under circumstances?
there particular model years should looking (or avoiding)?
older models hdmi compatable kind of adaptor (or better idea buy newer machine onboard?)

, biggie:

£500 reasonable amount spend (or should forget until have little more money available?)

advice apprciated....

as long unibody model fine. stay away older, more boxy ones, won't you're looking for. unibodies made 2008 on. more durable well.

i'd go 4-6 gigs of ram , @ least 500 gig hdd.

hdmi shouldn't problem. buy adaptor.

price, can 1 £500 if hard. £600 - £650 can expect pay nice one.
