Walk-in availability for 4S?

now february here, i'm eligible upgrade iphone 4 4s full subsidy.

going place reservation pick phone in-store, of stores in area "not available reserve" or popup says "reservations unavailable." i've checked shortly after 9 pm through midnight past couple of nights using both apple web site , apple store app on iphone, , keep getting same messages every nearby store (in boston/nh area). reservation system nice in theory, if nothing ever available reserve, i'm not sure see point...

so, has bought 4s in past couple of weeks, has availability improved point don't need reservation? i'd love able walk in , pick 1 (16 gb black at&t). don't want waste half-hour drive store.

(yes, call store , ask, i've found exercise in frustration in past... waiting forever on hold before ever answers, , they're reluctant offer estimates of stock availability anyway.)

 

umm should not have issues going store , picking 1 up. there's no need setup reservation one.
