wife , each got new 4s yesterday. not have text messaging plan because refuse pay used free.
anyway, we're using google voice alternative. far can tell, i've set both phones exact same way, gv messages seem come thru apple messages app , mine don't; mine come thru gv app.
idea going on here? (1) don't want pay messages if can it. (2) thought messages used texting client between ios devices using internet data , not true sms. that's how works on ipad. can't tell what's going on our iphones.
i think figured out who's having same problem. well, being billed incoming text messages because being forwarded google voice actual cellular phone number.
in google voice setup web page, cell number being set forward text messages. seems obvious, when googled original problem, google's own documentation on ambiguous. figured problem phone setup, not google voice setup. set phone not forward , seems have worked.
