Apple Store talked me out of 27in imac

so 9 months ago decided imac house when got bonus in march. here in march , after 9 months of research decided on 27inch imac. (i put in signature already!)

fast forward today , @ apple store said wanted purchase said imac , rep asked me using , why wanted 27 inch. response 21.5 looked small me (use 21" monitor everyday work, see friends 21.5 imacs @ houses) - , have large space putting why not. plan have awhile , don't want , regret decision if don't have immeadiate use.

told me stupid spend money on screen since wasn't doing heavy video editing or gaming, , should 1 of 21.5 models , told me lesser 1 plenty our music, movies, picturs, documents, etc...

left 21.5 test out , see how it, returning if not. curious if should agree suggestion or not? 27in beneficial need screen specs? recreational users have 27 inch regret? i'm confused. logic wanting 27in might stupid, don't love 21.5...it looks small on huge workspace!!!

please share thoughts - , waiting 2012 imac not option, don't waste time

"don't waste time" asking become , make decision know answer too... can't dictate should , shouldn't agree on.

personally... think choosing larger screen because workspace large bit stupid...to me computer not fashion statement or piece of furniture should go something... there job done.

edit:

when purchasing first imac have bought first 27" imac (the 1 identical specs 2nd 21.5" decided against because gpu identical in both machines , on 27" have more more processing in games , other graphically intense applications due resolution being higher. went 21.5 , been great far (except having return 3 times until got 1 without issues, , 1 starting dust under screen in corner -_-)

27" if benefit screen real estate. wouldn't make work space alright or not... there used tool or form of consumption of entertainment.
