Thinkpads.

my first computer (which got in 1999) used ibm thinkpad 600. when broke in 2000, asked father if source ibm service manual fix it. did, couldn't fix it, , ended buying compaq presario desktop. next 9 years, used desktop computers only.

when shipping off college in 2009, bought macbook pro out of curiosity. machine, part of me wished gotten thinkpad instead. on 70% of students @ university used macbooks - , while saw lot of hps , dells, didn't see many people using thinkpads in particular.

last summer, sold macbook , got lenovo thinkpad t420. it's still workhorse machine , 1 of solid notebooks i've ever had.

maybe when ivy bridge releases in june, might hands on t430s...

experiences thinkpads? perhaps best thing them retro 1990s aesthetic.

i had macbook, , typing on imac windows installed on (used mac operating system 2 years after switching back).

using thinkpad edge. it. suits purposes - fair amount of financial analysis/modeling , excel work, , handles job well. better mac, although macs have other benefits (that not happen need, personally).

keyboard great. girlfriend has thinkpad edge, has great function can spill drinks on , won't damage computer (*generally speaking, don't overdo it). also, love trackpoint. used trackpad, once got used trackpoint couldn't go back.

know, it's laptop. it's stable, bit heavy, , works well. don't expect magic it. it's workhorse handles work pretty well. no complaints windows 7.
