Why not move to Windows? Validation

i've been reminded today why don't want rely on microsoft windows. tried install latest "critical" security update today, , update took long time download, , when started install, windows update locked up. presented message saying:

"you may victim of software counterfeiting. use microsoft windows features, such updates windows update; latest updates; , receive product support, copy of microsoft windows must validated genuine. go online , resolve now."

when clicked on link "go online", brought microsoft internet explorer, displayed popup saying "speed browsing disabling add-ons" , promptly locked (windows internet explorer not responding). got message saying validation period had expired, , needed re-register copy of windows 7. wants "download required windows validation components", , i'm looking @ warning message microsoft saying there's risk involved agreeing download , installation. okay, select download , allow internet explorer run add-on "windows activation technologies microsoft corporation." no response. fsck thing! mac os x me!

update: after long wait, activation spit warning:

"windows running on pc has not yet been activated. resolve, contact system administrator assistance."

system administrator, , did stupid activation thing when installed copy of windows! more insulting, below warning "opportunity" "buy genuine windows" $149.00. so, have prove microsoft own (or called rent?) copy of windows? waste of time! i'm glad don't have critical running on system, because totally screwed on windows activation.

i plugged photosmart 8750 mbp , took 6 clicks installed , print test page.

took 1 click on windows 7 same thing.

both os's have shortcomings , unique benifits. hating on either 1 fail.
