Restart Issues with MBP after Software Update

this first time posting here, , couldn't find other postings helped me issue.

bought mbp 13" brand new less month ago. running snow leopard still, thinking of doing free upgrade lion os x. opinions on that, i've heard , bad things.

onto real issue... since i've had mbp every time software update , requires me restart, screen goes black , loud beep comes mbp (is beep normal?) after update done. mbp seems trying restart... after screen goes black after upgrade described above, white startup screen comes up, apple logo , circle status bar... screen stays on 5-10 seconds , screen goes black again if restarting again, white startup screen again 5-10 seconds... again restarts @ stage (black screen again , white startup screen)... sequence happens 3-4 times each time software update... it's scary hell !

has had problem or suggestions on how fix this? maybe should going apple store , talking apple genius? first mac, else runs amazing far!

in advance , try answer questions may have asap.

 

that's normal software updates include firmware update, not every update (in fact, they're relatively rare). if happens every time, update have gotten stuck , failed install.

first thing try shut computer down completely, hold power button down until hear long tone again. should go through process you've described, perhaps clear it's memory of update thinks it's trying install.
