putting aside waiting 2012 refreshes. dealing 2011 models. final decision may delayed until after refresh though.
not fussed games - xbox 360 man.
sometime - maybe forever - run mixed pc , mac environment. not considering laptops 3g ipad 2 has been working last 6 months carry around device.
pc remain 3d animation (maya) , video , photo editing (adobe elements , premier elements) now.
mac take on itunes, fileserving, backups, media management, general word processing, speadsheets, presentations etc (so can benefit icloud). intererested in music making garage band, imovie , iphoto take out pc photo , video editing. possibly website design , programming (bored of visual studio).
want point of view conclude both imac , mini fine regardless of model.
problem both have things don't like. mini whilst amazing power usage point of view poor value wrt imac. , imac terrible single point of failure perspective.
when think buy base mini conclude time have included price of keyboard , mouse plus upgraded memory getting under powered device @ premium price. next mini separate graphics card. still 2 cores. ok server - time have got keyboard , mouse paying more base imac. base imac gets me 4 cores 4g of ram , screen keyboard , mouse. sounds better deal me.
have concluded? unless demand mini form factor whatever reason bad value money , should imac.
reasonable conclusion or have missed something?
only other thing if imac has issues whole thing has taken in. screen, everything. deal breaker in enterprise unless keep multiple in storage. ymmv.
overall imac best deal going right now. can't ips display , core i5 better price if built yourself.
