writing here ask problem occurred yesterday on imac
have scoured these forums looking similar problems have found none.
apologies in advance if posted in wrong section.
problem:
not 100% has occurred, seems home folder volume has been renamed. - or seems os.
volume named 'home drive' in finder
after reboot, desktop booted 'brand new' account. seems not locate of user pref. files, folders etc. started 'blank'. hope makes sense.
after further investigation, found going users/accounts in system preferences change directory user account pointed to.
thought found fix, insead of being named 'home drive' in user accounts, (as still pointed to)
select right user home folders etc. volume displays 'home drive 1'.
pointed user directory & boots usual. there still problems other programs/software have been using search 'home drive' without luck & thus, start new & require setup or forget settings. example itunes & apple programs ask me accept licence on startup. or lightroom cannot find catalog file.
have renamed 'home drive 1' volume in finder 'home drive'
has not fixed problem.
seems os still thinks? there 2 volumes same name & continues problems.
realise post sounds confusing, if can i'd appreciate it. & willing donate money via paypal them, or charity of choosing.
