old powerbook G4 problems

ok tried turn on powerbook g4 other day , came gray screen faces , question mark flashing. figured hard drive went bad on ordered new 1 preloaded tiger(the operating system g4 went bad.) have put new hard drive in , still comes same gray screen. ideas on problem now?

have tried booting firewire external hdd or os x cd? also, powerbook have?
