Lion Server VPN Issues

hi everyone,
have issues lion server vpn. have read bunch of other articles online , have enabled every vpn port , forwarded server. use default configured file , have tried manually configuring it. made sure shared secret consists of letters , numbers. tried it's public , private host name, along ip address. yet on macbook, tried connect, says "connecting" few seconds, stops, no error. on ipad & iphone try connect , error saying "the l2tp-vpn server did not respond. try reconnecting. if problem continues, verify settings , contact admin." have tried everything! please try , give me tips! thanks.

 

i have ours working hong kong abroad , home - connect uk. can't right now, promise send info in next 24 hours!! )
