our small non profit revived new xraid storage device, came 14x500gb drives in , has 1 month of use on it. use 2 drives on our internal gigabit network between both macs , pcs. understand have 1 controller act 1 drive 7 drives , same other.
question need make happen? have xraid , 2 apple fiver cables. thinking getting xserve fiber card , xsan.
also, should batteries unit, on ups not big one.
not sure setup of xraid, can tell 2 things:
- you can connect device os. not have xserve.
- you'll want batteries in array in order enable write-back cache. ups won't enable , write performance suffer.
