froze and can't boot..

so morning went update...
mac downloaded file, asked me reboot... did...
in reboot process can install new setup seemed freeze, got blank white screen , can see mouse pointer frozen...
held power button turn off, did, , turned on...
laptop wont boot, see apple logo , little thing under spinning, wont go past that...

 

try booting recovery mode or safe mode. download combo installer http://support.apple.com/downloads/#osxlion , install instead. dont use software update there seems lots of problems version on on there
