Calendar icon on home screen is out of date

annoyingly, calendar icon on home screen out of date. friday, march 2, @ 11:21 pm am. on iphone's home screen there little square icon reads "thursday, 1".

not time zone issue, because either friday or saturday everywhere in world. not mild lag, because on 23 hours late change, , counting.

noticed after writing wrong date on form. since then, have been noticing problem often. surefire way update date reboot iphone. syncing mac doesn't it. locking , unlocking doesn't it, nor swiping next screen , back.

else have problem?

details: iphone 4s, ios 5.0.1, not jailbroken, nothing fancy

 

a hard reset may help, hold sleep/wake button , home button until apple logo appears (ignoring else pops up)
