Streaming HD + 5.1 audio from iPad to ATV

hey guys,

i'd know if there way of encoding videos stream ipad apple tv in hd , surround sound.

tried encoding them in mp4 dts, ac3 , aac 6 channels.

itunes won't let me copy ac3 files ipad. dts won't produce sound on either ipad or on tv , aac plays in stereo instead of surround.

there codec combination make work?
