Spring Cleaning: Recycle your Electronics

i've been doing pre-spring cleaning around house. figure better of these jobs before weather gets nice, , want outside.

key clean, tidy, , organized house means periodically getting rid of things don't need/want/use. , many technology buffs, i'd collected few outdated computer components, including of bulky old crt monitors taking space in closets.

don't put these in trash or (worse) leave them curb. illegal in many places.

don't donate them salvation army, goodwill etc. these organizations more of sort of stuff can handle.

do make use of many (free) recycling programs electronics retailers offer. make sure company choose disposes of e-waste in responsible manner (ie. don't ship off bangladesh picked apart orphans.)

lastly, don't make mistake did: holding onto obsolete , un-needed old monitor several years because had cost lot of money when new. never used it, , took limited space.

i donate them salvation army. rid of them , receive deduction such act. if many handle, can reject donation never do. ways accept stuff :)

fwiw, if not stuff receive turned around , sold in thrift stores , helps fund ministries, prefer seeing doing :)
