Buying new Ram/HDD


okay bump ram...
have 09 mid or late... don't know one;
specs on now,
13.3" 2.26ghz, 2gigs of ddr3 ram , 160gig hd...
, not cutting me.
looking @ doing it. work , run good?

hi,

go 8gb ram upgrade - did macbook , has helped lot.
secondly - why not spend little more , buy ssd hdd upgrade? see huge speed boost (more ram upgrade) it! :cool:

4gb + ssd faster 8gb + normal hdd.

Apple Configurator: Activation failed


hi all

i'm having problem apple configurator , preparing devices - ipad 3rd gen.

apple configurator sees ipad fine when start preparation phase fails @ 'activation failed'.

when hover on yellow warning triangle see:

'unable activate (activation store bag request not obtained). try again later.'

looking in console, see:

have no idea going on!

far have tried:

- activating ipad manually through wi-fi , itunes
- downloading ios ipsw file , using os install
- enabling , disabling supervision
- creating profile applied

of above hasn't fixed i'm bit stumped!

i'm using macbook running os x lion 10.7.3 , date far system updates go.

if can great, i'm supposed demo'ing tomorrow!

i've been getting them point of being @ home screen, , unchecking "erase data" , pulling trigger. has been working, still annoying needless steps nonetheless.

iPhone usage, "other"


what "other" when looking @ graph of photos/music/apps etc...

have 2gb taken other. assume stuff messages, 2gb seems lot. :eek:

i'm jailbroken (4s), don't know if takes memory too?
 

jb take of other, you'd still have on non-jb phone.

Ideal computing setup?


dear all,

please accept apologies if in wrong forum.

keen photographer , make heavy use of nikon d300, file output being either 12-bit lossless compressed or 14-bit nef. have noticed on last year editing these images on may 2007 macbook has become pain - in particular, takes quite while change make reflected on screen. has taken lot of fun out of hobby , while have changed way use camera minimise need digital darkroom, cannot eliminate need entirely.

desktop system can effortlessly process images - @ point in future expect upgrade higher resolution body , acquire upcoming edition of photoshop, system handle quite bit.

there no particular budget in mind , in no hurry buy anything. thinking along lines of 27" imac appreciate further advice , recommendations, particularly on things displays , storage solutions.

you have 5 year old consumer laptop. pretty new , fine dealing images d300 , bigger sensor.

mbp fine if want portability, ram. imac fine "desktop" ram. mac pro overkill don't let me stop getting one.

ex used process medium format bigger shoot on mbp 0 problems.

Stuck on the ''Getting Ready'' screen in DrawSomething


this first time has happened me. i've restarted app , restarted ipad still no luck. reinstall app i'm afraid i'd lose current games. has happened else?
 

the same thing happening ipad well. :(

App Expose in Lion-only show windows in current desktop?


does know if there way in lion limit app expose showing windows in current desktop (as opposed desktops)

in snow leopard there helpful terminal command allow this:

defaults write com.apple.dock wvous-show-windows-in-other-spaces -bool false

in lion command doesn't work. use spaces separate different tasks doing rather apps. ex: work on 1 desktop, casual browsing on another, particular research topic on etc. expose great finding windows think appreciate more windows have less useful becomes. separating work multiple desktops way reduce number of windows have sort through in lion when activate app expose see of open windows app. what's worse because there more windows sort through accidentally click on 1 belongs space , yanked space...very disorienting , wish apple give option never happen. never want in space unless take action go there!

combined fact mission control doesn't let see when have more few windows single app open makes difficult take full advantage of spaces (imho).

wondering if missing terminal command, or if had ideas way fix in lion...or perhaps thing have learn let go...(i really hope ml because after months of using lion still find myself missing sl)

gosh. have been trying resolve issue forever , still haven't come conclusion. know how feel! i'm surprised haven't found more information online. can't 2 feel way.

have been able resolve issue? i'm open upgrading 10.8 if need be.
