First Poor Customer Service Experience with Apple


i spent (i.e evening) on 1.5 hrs on phone apple technical support. not 1 call support here issue.

having trouble system around 3 days ago , decided wipe 2011 mba after making tm backup. after wiping main partition not restore os via recovery hd option due error message. "what heck thought, why not use newfangled internet recovery feature." wiped , made 1 new partition on mba in sig. starts internet recovery, connect wifi , boom....nothing happens. wait it....nothing. globe spins, network selection choice full bars, then...nothing. after trying forever , browsing web solution call apple technical support see if needs changed router/network settings (firewall/ports/etc). decide after 1.5 hours have 3 options.

1. take apple store reinstall (nearest 1 2.5hr drive)
2. send in them reinstall (at least 1 week turn around without main laptop)
3. pay them full lion reinstall disk , send me myself.


not believe heard. sat on phone long , offered me that? clarified rep since apple chose not include re-install media laptop , decided implement new "recovery feature" not working correctly must pay again os on system bought os for?

confirmed statement.



decided send in (now have wait box). have had excellent service apple irritated me. sorry long rant.
 

first thing when back...make own usb recovery drive.
