Airport Extreme and WIN7 computer

hello all!

driving me nuts.

have airport extreme router, 2 ipads, imac, emac, dell running xp (ethernet connected) , toshiba running win7.

except xp connected wirelessly.

when win7 box connected router , ping it, slow ping responses, dropped packets , occasional connection drop. response unbelievably slow - kinda unreliable dial-up connection.

when same win7 box connected wirelessly netgear router, performs flawlessly, albeit @ 802.11g instead of 802.11n.

questions:

1) there compatibility issue win7 , airport extreme?
2) there setting on airport extreme knows addresses this?

driver nic on win7 box date.

have ideas?

 

how far away win7 box ae?

how ae radios setup? 2.4ghz b/g/n? 5ghz n?

other devices using 802.11n? 2.4 or 5ghz

netgear same distance ae win7 box?
