What is the cause of the bulges on my 17" MBP 2010? Is the unibody case fragile?

hello. today, noticed on both sides of corner, there bulges. knows cause sure? showed dealer. @ first, thinks bulges caused drop. then, mentioned batteries located. not sure cause , asked me send apple second opinion...thanks.

 

it drop. thats not swelling.
metal soft , bends/bends.

if airline dropped it, file claim (or through insurance)
