Pixelmator 2 vs Photoshop Elements 10

there have been few threads on previously, @ least 2 years old , dealt pixelmator 1 , photoshop 8 or earlier.

people's opinion current versions pixelmator 2 , photoshop elements 10, particularly regard following 2 questions:

1 easier use beginner @ photo editing?
key features present in 1 not other?

kind of things starting out replacing backgrounds on portrait photos , replacing sky on landscape/building photos, please don't restrict answer use cases.

also, know there trial versions of both applications , take advantage of that. want other opinions.
