not beat dead theme death, ideas on why mac mini not booting @ all? a1176 running fine on original 1.8 core duo, got parts , went ahead , went upgrade:
upgraded cpu core 2 duo 2.0 ghz
upgraded ram 2gb
upgraded hd 500gb wd scorpio
followed directions on ifixit, great , thorough. completed processor upgrade too, despite trepidation. reassembled (actually twice troubleshooting)
nothing: or nothing... no chime, no video, no hd reads. mouse lights @ power on, fan starts, , hd spins up, no leds , no image @ all.
did smc reset, disassembled , reseated components , cables, reinstalled old ram. no luck. think damaged mb, or maybe got bad (used) cpu? i'd hate go through cpu install again!
