i'm interested in getting external hard drive imac 7,1. i'm looking @ owc mercury on-the-go pro (http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/firewire/on-the-go). i'm planning on using firewire 800, , question whether or not 7200 rpm model provide significant performance advantage on 5400 rpm. based on benchmarks on owc's website, looks firewire 800 port might bottleneck both drives achieving there maximum read , write speeds, there performance both approximately identical.
