used able print complicated graphics when attached windows xp computer, now, attached imac, remotely heavy in graphics produces memory overflow. printer has 32 mb of built in ram. have not added memory.. not needed on win xp computer.
tech support @ hp tells me printer not supported on mac.. it's old. runs (when it's not "overflowing") , love able use on mac. adding more memory (a 128 mb chip $150) make handle larger files? have epson workforce - low end printer - can handle mac graphics better hp.
suggestions appreciated. don't want invest in more memory if won't fix problem.

can't answer specific question; largely, consider printers disposable, , replace them more computers. way manufacturers treat them well; printers loss leaders, , make money on ink/toner.
