Apple TV 3 with Airport Extreme?

friends,
going new , first apple tv 3rd gen soon, using airport extreme dual band base station in have connected hard harddrive contains movies , pics, can able to airplay direct on apple tv via aebs?
if yes please tell me procedure because totally new apple tv

 

i'd know too. have same setup, except atv2. i'd stream movies, haven't ever gotten work , have these movies i'd love able watch. better if of downloaded tv shows play
