i've jailbroken many idevices before, every 3 months or ipod/iphone/ipad require restore or went wrong. haven't jailbroken since got 4s , i'm interested in trying again since cydia has pretty cool tweaks 4s. question is, should it? how stable new jailbreak? if go wrong, how recover app data/text messages/contacts/apps etc again? restore or set new?
jailbreak stable had been, issue here not jailbreak, installing, need ask diferent question, need check how stable apps , tweaks interested on. jailbreak not going slow down, affect battery or damage phone on way possible, apps/tweaks install after jailbroken story.
personal answer is...jailbreak? yes, absolutely..
install every crap installed before? no, absolutely no, - install know app, known developers, read, read, read, read more, ask question app on forums, them read, , read more, them install.
