i've downloaded .iso file of windows 7 64-bit (legally!). i've created partition in boot camp assistant, formatted ntfs , began install windows. started hanging once reached 22% before coming error message.
when burned dvd using disk utility, recall verification failed. ignored that, i've written discs before have failed verify correctly have gone on work well. however, first time i've created bootable .iso disc i'm thinking may problem. i've tried burning several more copies. they've failed verify , wouldn't install. however, crashed @ different points in installation process.
i'm thinking failure verify symptom of problem. hardware issue dvd-r drive (it's matishita dvd-r uj-898 shipped with)? problem disk utility, and, if so, can recommend alternative program capable of writing bootable .iso discs? blank dvds themselves? i've got through 5 of them now.
if it's relevant, these system specs:
macbook pro (late 2010) running os x 10.6.8.
2.4 ghz intel core 2 duo
4 gb 1067 mhz ddr3 memory
i'd appreciate help.
many thanks,
johnny
failure verify means burn failed in fashion , yes that's problem because means data on disk isn't same in iso.
incompatibility disks have, try brand. drive. not problem disk utility.
