first visited in 1985, (at time lived , worked eighteen months in white plains ny. on secondment dutch company - heineken)
made frequent trips nyc, , totally fascinated. nyc population 7,000,000, comparison home town of 's-hertogenbosch, 85,000; whole population of netherlands 13,000,000.
nyc different, first 24hr city, still bit dangerous, hell in areas dangerous. had life had ever seen in movies, seeing street bob dylan , suze rotolo, made cover freewheeln' . going around manhattan seeing times sq, , 42nd st, taxi driver (you talking me?). central park bigger in area whole home town. john lennon's strawberry fields memorial had opened, central park dangerous, , after dark dangerous. didn't matter me exciting place had ever been.

i'm thinking of travelling again year comic con, in october 2012.
