Whatsapp while Cellular Data OFF??

hello,

bought 4s few days ago, , noticed there no 3g edge switch (like on iphone 4), , see on menu "cellular data", same?

because i'm trying set off , meanwhile run whatsapp can never connect.

i'm used old iphone 4 there whatsapp worked under edge network.

pls advise

turning cellular data off turns data connections off. ios 5.1 looks bringing 3g connection switch back. whatsapp should still pull data wifi connection, though.
