question about a used mac pro

so i've been looking mac pro , came across 1 on craigslist .. guy said take 1k cash .. scam ..

says 2009

macpro tower 2.8ghz quad core intel xeon processer • 6gb ram • os x 10.7 lion

1tb storage (two 500gb drives) + dvd/cd writer
new in box, wireless bluetooth keyboard , magic mouse (this alone worth $140 retail)
firewire 400 + 800 , usb ports on front , --
2 ethernet ports plus airport wireless card built in
ati radeon hd 2600 video card can run 2 monitors -

didn't think 2.8 quad available in 2009 ? or ? i've asked him serial number can check apple cuz says mint , has box , .. still waiting on reply ..
