how to password protect a partition?

hi, i've tried searching on forums , internet regarding this, haven't found solution it. hope gurus have solution.

bought 1tb hardrive, , i've partition , work requires me use both mac , pc. there way can password protect 1 of partitions accessible on both windows , mac pcs?

know mac can create disk image, don't think accessible on windows computer. windows, im aware there 3rd party programs allow me so, again, might not able run on mac!

pretty common thing people require, im sure has figured out. please help! thanks!

 

never heard of way protect cross-platform. osx has protected dmg, not part of windows. i'm afraid out of luck.
