2009 Quad upgrade to 2010 Hex while booting from ARC-1882

i have 2009 quad 3.33 want upgrade 2010 hex 3.33. use areca arc-1882 ix-12 raid card boot stripped raid 0 , have 8tb raid 5 attached arc-1882.

here question...is efi upgrade going work while booting raid card or need flash efi 5.1 using regular sata hard drive connected directly plane of mp? know once mp on 5.1, mp should boot fine arc-1882 because have read other people using areca cards after upgrading. don't know if can upgrade efi 5.1 3rd party raid card installed , booting it? or...do boot usb external hard drive , upgrade efi 5.1 that?

before upgrade appreciated because don't want mess raid setup.

you need upgrade mp firmware drive connected backplane or won't work properly. after that, can boot areca.
