driving cloning swap possible?

hello all,

have 2009 24 inch imac , late 2009 27 inch imac. wondering if possible clone 24 inch drive how , transfer 27 inch. still boot , work?

giving 24 inch neice , nephew, want fire 27 inch , have 24 running on it.. light room, photoshop etc.

yes, work via target disk mode + carboncopycloner if have @ least mac os x 10.6.3 on 24" imac or can use migration assistant.

migration assistant / setup assistant information:

setting-up new mac old one, backups, or pc
which includes:

• using setup assistant on snow leopard or leopard
• using setup assistant on lion
• using migration assistant on snow leopard or leopard
• using migration assistant on lion
• transferring files 1 user account another
• transferring home folders not on startup volume
• transferring applications
• problems after using migration assistant
