SSD Questions for the Newly Initiated (Me!)

i got intel 320 80 gb ssd. it's nice it's not fast. not 300-400 mb/s speeds i've seen others. now, i'm looking @ 256 gb ssd crucial m4 , samsung 830. there 1 that's "better" other? based off i'm reading, m4 running on 2281 sf controller while samsung makes own controller. keep hearing sf controllers not reliable. still true? there's $30-40 difference in price between 2 , want drive that's reliable on speed.
